Initial experience on MVS SP 3.8 with 4381 Hardware

Things have moved on steadily through XA, ESA, OS/390 and now z/OS.


	Provided support for an IBM education center in Mainz (Germany) on a small system (4341).


	Currently working on 64 bit z/OS systems

		Responsible for setting up (Hardware and Software) at a disaster recovery site comprising of 30 Tbyte of DASD and 4000 Mips of CPU power.

Building many MVS Systems for a high availability project based on GDPS and PPRC

Managing the migration from an XRC based mirroring system to a PPRC based system.

Current Hardware is T-REX (2084) together with ESS-800 DASD.

New components include Multiple Channel Subsystems, Ficon attached Control units, Ficon PPRC and Fiber switches.
